Persona Fitness Wear StoryPersona is now based in
Rancocas Woods, New Jersey. Our manufacturing is done in Philadelphia, so
we have direct control over our fitness wear products. Katie Healy designs
the Persona sports apparel line.
Katie moved from New York City
where she was the design director selling to all the major retail chains.
She was responsible for 100 million dollars of sales and travel to 16
different countries overseeing design and
production.
The Persona story begins when Katie started in the
garment industry as a fit model for the children’s line at Cole of
California where her father worked. She worked during the summer months
while in high school. Katie then majored in art at college and attended
Fashion Design School. She was hired by Esprit to start their children’s
wear line in 1980 and moved to New York in 1986. In 1994, Katie starting
going to the gym decided to make some fitness wear clothes to wear. The
sports apparel she desgned became a hit with the other women gym members
and Persona was born. The name refers to the change that you go through
from being out of shape to a health, happy, fit person.
